Frequently

Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about the Helios E-Bike & E-Scooter Charging hub, or contact our team to request a demo.

What is the Solum Helios charging station?

The Solum Helios is a modular parking and charging station designed for electric bikes and e-scooters. It combines secure docking, renewable energy generation and intelligent charge-point management in one self-contained system.

Does the Helios charging station require a mains electricity connection?

No. Helios uses Solum’s Arena X solar flooring to generate electricity, with integrated batteries storing energy for charging. This allows the station to operate independently without a connection to the electricity grid.

How many e-bikes and e-scooters can Helios accommodate?

Helios can be configured with up to four modular docking sections. Each e-scooter module can accommodate four vehicles, while each e-bike module provides space for three bicycles, allowing the layout to be tailored to the location and expected demand.

Does installing a Helios station require excavation or civil works?

Helios can be installed directly onto suitable existing pavement without extensive excavation or structural alterations. Its modular design helps reduce installation time, disruption and the impact on the surrounding area.

How are bikes and scooters secured while charging?

The station incorporates smart anti-theft locking. E-scooters are secured using a robust stainless-steel locking mechanism, while bicycles use a stainless-steel chain with a protective covering to help prevent scratches. Users can also manage the station and monitor charging through the associated app.
